Welcome to Osprey’s Rest
We welcome you to come and experience the quiet and peace of Osprey’s Rest!
Located in north central Cabarrus County, NC, on the secluded acres of the Hagler Family Homestead, Osprey’s Rest is readily accessible from Interstate 85 for any gathering. The Homestead is a working farm featuring 1880’s vintage farm buildings with farm animals spread across spacious green pastures, woodlands and our pristine lake and wetland.
We are a designated wildlife sanctuary with emphasis on the protection of honeybees and other pollinators. It is truly hallowed ground.
Osprey’s Rest offers a refuge for wild things and for you!
Our Mission
. . . to create, sustain and host a Refuge for folks to experience Sanctuary and Peace.
Osprey’s Rest offers a beautiful setting for personal renewal, gatherings, celebrations, worship and a place to participate in sustainable, interdependent living focused on earth care. Simply.. we offer you the opportunity to come and enjoy a time apart in the sanctity and unhurried splendor of creation.
“If I am to follow Jesus, then I, too, must remain close to the soil. Often I look up into the clouds and daydream about a better world. But my dreams will never bear fruit unless I keep turning my eyes again and again back to the dust of this earth and listening to what God is saying to me on the road of life. For I am connected to the earth and to all who walk the earth with me. Nature is not the background to our lives; it is a living gift that teaches us about the ways and the will of the Creator.“
— Henri Nouwen

The Osprey
The Osprey is known to the native peoples as the “Fish Eagle”. Like other birds of prey, Osprey are extremely patient, contemplative creatures who rest high in the tree tops or rocky crags, waiting for the perfect conditions to take flight. With the slightest of effort they soar on unseen currents, seemingly dancing on the wind. At just the right moment, they plunge into the deep waters below to retrieve their sustenance.
We invite you to come, rest, and soar on eagle’s wings!
